Famous Amos Cookies Compromised?
FDA inspectors found the dangerous bacterium listeria in numerous spots along the production line of an Augusta, Ga. Kellogg plant that makes Keebler and Famous Amos cookies. MSNBC reports that the FDA warned Kellogg that they are in violation of the Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) regulations for food manufacturers. Kellogg has 15 working days to correct the problem. The company has started taking "aggressive actions," including extensive cleaning and testing. Kellogg spokeswoman Kris Charles said that the company is confident of their food safety. However, the FDA called the foods made at the plant "adulterated" and possibly "contaminated with filth."
